MAY FARM

The May Farm was purchased from Ross Grayson about 1941 by Boone and Grace May.  The barn was built about 1948 by Boone, his son, Ray, and a neighbor, Bob Reece.  Boone and Grace’s daughter, Audrey May Younce, and her husband Lowell are the current owners of the farm, having acquired it in 1993.  On the barn, the quilt square depicts the Lemoyne Star, copied from a quilt made by Grace May and proudly owned by Audrey.  Grace made clothes for her children, and from the scraps she crafted her quilts.  Audrey recalls her mother having quilting frames, and her Grandmother Eggers and neighbor ladies helping her quilt.

 Safety & Respecting Private Property

When viewing and enjoying the Quilt Trail use caution when slowing or stopping near a site.  Stopping along busy roads can be dangerous and illegal.  All sites are on private property and should be viewed from the public road unless otherwise indicated at the site if it is a business open to the public.   We are indebted to our barn hosts for their generosity.
